Yesterday every school in Ireland raised the tricolour that was presented to them by the soldiers. The ceremony started at 11:45am. We had to lay out chairs on the yard. First Aoife said a piece about 1916. Then Faye, Aine and David read out our proclamation. While Sean raised the flag, we sang the National Anthem. Then we sang Ireland’s Call. Chantelle, Darragh, Therese, Alana, Monica, Catriona and I sang a piece of the song on our own. The last song we sang was a song from Peace Proms. It is called Imagine. The song shows that there should be peace on Earth. At the end of the ceremony, the Parents Association had refreshments for everyone. It was a fun day and I will never forget that day because we were celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising.
