Making Butter

Jnr & Snr Infants and First Class had a lot of fun making butter. You had to shake it and shake it until you were tired, but the reward was tasting the creamy butter on the bread. As you can see like it was a tremendous success.

Grandparents Day

Here at St Brendan’s all the classes completed some creative writing about their grandparents. Jnr & Snr Infants and 1st Class did some writing and drawing. Second, third and fourth classes completed acrostic poems for grandparents. Fifth and sixth classes wrote about their favourite memories of their grandparents. We had a mass for grandparents’ day in St Brendan’s and afterwards, it was lovely to see the children show their writing to the parents and grandparents who attended.

Social& Digital Media Focus Group

IMG_2155Today at St Brendan’s, eight students from the 5th and 6th Class took part in a focus group, which was hosted by researchers from Technological University Dublin. The topic discussed was Progressing Children’s right to be heard through social and digital media. Our school became involved through our participation in Clic News. The discussion covered diverse areas such as media devices, types of social media you engage with, web safety, reputable websites, Climate Action, electric cars and ways to improve Clic News. Our students were engaged, eloquent, well informed and they should be really proud.
